Default My E/Me - Needing some help

Hey guys. I want to make an echo nuker but I'm pretty new to the game. My friend and guildie was telling me about Skill Cap to take elite skills from enemies in certain areas. Well, here are my skills so far.

Level: 11
Fire Magic: 13
Energy Storage: 3
(Everything else 0)

Armour:
All Droks:
Flames Eye of Superior Fire Magic
Armour: 60
Fire Magic: +1 (stacking)
Fire Magic: +3 (non-stacking)
Health: -75

Pyromancers Robes of Major Vigor
Energy: +5
Amour: 60
Health: +41
Armour: +10 (vs. ele attacks)
Armour: +10 (vs. Fire attacks)

Pyromancers Gloves
Energy: +5
Armour: 60
Armour: +10 (vs. ele attacks)
Armour: +10 (vs. Fire attacks)

Pyromancers Leggins
Armour: 60
Energy recovery +1
Armour: +10 (vs. ele attacks)
Armour: +10 (vs. Fire attacks)

Pyromancers Shoes
Armour: 60
Energy recovery +1
Armour: +10 (vs. ele attacks)
Armour: +10 (vs. Fire attacks)

Rago's Flame Staff
Energy: +10
Fire Dmg: 11-22 (Req 9 Fire Magic)
Halves casting time of Fire Magic Spells (20%)
Halves skill recharge of Fire Magic Spells (20%)
Energy: +5
Enchantments Last 20% longer

And even though it's irrelevent, I am holding a Flame Artifact
Energy: +12 (Req 13 Fire Magic)
Health: +28
(again, this is irrelevant as the staff is two handed)

My skills are as follows:
Flare
Aura of Restoration
Phoenix
Fireball
Resurrection Signet
Imagined Burden
Fire Storm
Glyph of Lesser Energy

My usual tactics:
Just before the enemy is agro'd I do GoLE; I run to agro the enemy and use fire storm. When the enemy begins running I hit him with Fireball; Once the enemy has stopped and continues engaging in battle I hit him with Phoenix then immediately after I hit Aura of Res then continuously hit Flare until the rest regens. If it's a harder enemy, I will repeat this. If the enemy must be close to me to hit me, I will hit him with Imagined Burden as well.

I would like any help I can get. I am only as far as Droks but I can get ran anywhere.

Thanks in advance

I would raise the energy storage above 3, and also, get rid of firestorm. Firestorm makes monsters scatter. All you really need to be an echo nuker is arcane echo and meteor shower, any other skills are pretty much personal prefference.

Oh and i'm a nuker myself, i'd reccomend boosting up your energy storage alot, maybe take one or two off of fire magic.

Do you have tenai's heat yet? That really helps with nuking.

What level are you? Because your energy storage needs to be a LOT higher. I would also start out casting aura of restoration first, that way you will be healing yourself when you start casting those fire spells. Then, use your GoLE and cast Meteor Shower, not Firestorm.

If monsters start running, then use Imagined Burden to keep them in the AoE of your spell. Or instead of using Imagine Burden, use Ice Spikes or some other Water spell to slow more than just 1 enemy down.

If you are going to utilize the Mesmer Secondary I would use it more for energy gaining rather than just slowing monster down.

I run several different builds as a nuker. They may be wrong to some, but they work for me. In PvE I usually set up as follows:
-Aura of Restoration
-Elemental Attunement (Elite)
-Fireball
-Rogorts Innvocation
-Meteor Shower
-GoLE
-Rez sig
-for the 8th skill I pack Signet of Capture when going into new areas so you can replace this with anything else. I like Tenais heat now.

When I am doing Missions in Pick up Groups I change to Echo nuker. I take out Elemental Attunement (elite) and replace it with Glyph of Renwal (elite). I add Fire attunement to regain some energy and even take GoLE sometimes. Basically when you go as a echo nuker people expect you to cast Meteor Shower as much a you possibly can.
Hope this helps

edit:changed storm to shower (my bad).

OK.

I disagree with the others. Max out your Fire Magic attribute. Since fire damage is pretty linear with attribute level, the difference between 12 and 13 8%+ damage on almost every spell. Exception -- if you run Immolate or other "on fire" skills, 12 is a break point for getting 3 seconds of burning.

Second, DON'T USE FIRESTORM!!!!! It's only available twice a minute. It doesn't do much, because enemies run away. And since enemies run away, it makes your other damage less effective.

Third, absolutely, positively get and use Fire Attunement, as a super-high priority.

Fourth, if you're in Lion's Arch and own Factions, hop over to Canthas to get Lava Arrows.

Fifth, Immolate is nice against individuals with higher armor levels. I think you need to buy it, in Grendich Courthouse, where you already bought Phoenix. But check guildwiki's Elementalist Quick Skills Reference for all details like that. (Google on those words together, including the word guildwiki.)

Sixth, none of this is about echo nuking. In echo nuking, the "nuke" is usually Meteor Shower (which some people in this thread have mistakenly called "Meteor Storm"), and the echo is first Arcane Echo, later Glyph of Renewal.

By the way, Lava Arrows doesn't mix well with true echo nuking. In echo nuking, you want to be far back from the action, where nobody attacks you. Lava Arrows makes you get a little closer than that.
